The bill also increases and makes other changes to the child tax credit.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Under the bill, a \u003Cem>critical employee\u003C\u002Fem> is defined as an individual who works full-time for at least 75% of the tax year (as certified by such individual’s employer) as a\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cul>\u003Cli>healthcare professional,\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>law enforcement officer,\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>member of a rescue squad or ambulance crew,\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>firefighter,\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>eligible child care provider,\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>family child care provider, or\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>personal or homecare aid.\u003C\u002Fli>\u003C\u002Ful>\u003Cp>Further, under the bill, such individual’s primary place of employment for the majority of hours worked during the tax year must be in a qualified opportunity zone.
