It also requires the President to receive congressional approval in order to take certain trade actions.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Specifically, the bill terminates duties imposed under the following executive orders (or any executive orders that are substantially similar to these executive orders):\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cul>\u003Cli>\u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.federalregister.gov\u002Fdocuments\u002F2025\u002F04\u002F07\u002F2025-06063\u002Fregulating-imports-with-a-reciprocal-tariff-to-rectify-trade-practices-that-contribute-to-large-and\">Executive Order 14257\u003C\u002Fa>, which imposed a 10% tariff on most imports to the United States and additional duties on specified trading partners;\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.federalregister.gov\u002Fdocuments\u002F2025\u002F02\u002F07\u002F2025-02406\u002Fimposing-duties-to-address-the-flow-of-illicit-drugs-across-our-northern-border\">Executive Order 14193\u003C\u002Fa>, which imposed a 25% tariff on most imports from Canada (except for Canadian energy or energy resources, which have a 10% tariff); and\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.federalregister.gov\u002Fdocuments\u002F2025\u002F02\u002F07\u002F2025-02407\u002Fimposing-duties-to-address-the-situation-at-our-southern-border\">Executive Order 14194\u003C\u002Fa>, which imposed a 25% tariff on most imports from Mexico.\u003C\u002Fli>\u003C\u002Ful>\u003Cp>Additionally, the bill prohibits the President from imposing or increasing a duty, quota, or tariff-rate quota on imports entering the United States, or preventing the application of trade agreement concessions on imports, unless a joint resolution of approval is enacted into law.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>The bill provides exclusions from this congressional approval requirement, such as imposing antidumping and countervailing duties under the Tariff Act of 1930.
